PHP web developer
Uselab is seeking an experienced PHP web developer (24 - 40 hours per week)
Uselab conceptualises, designs, develops and maintains distinctive web, mobile and social media applications. We create unique user experiences that merge seamlessly with the brand or strategy of our clients. Our products achieve results thanks to our focus on relevance and added value for the end user.
As a web developer at Uselab, you will be responsible for the conceptualisation and production of technical solutions. You will be responsible primarily for developing server-side code for websites or online applications. This will often entail complex challenges rather than simple, straightforward projects; the bar is high.
For example, you may work on a large online platform for Waternet about the canals of Amsterdam, a comprehensive Facebook application for Zilverenkruis Achmea, or large corporate websites for ACM or the Eigen Haard housing association.
Naturally, you will be familiar with Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), you will utilise frameworks (incl. Laravel) where possible and take a holistic view of projects that extends beyond technology.
We are seeking some one with the following qualities
- Approximately 3 years’ experience
- Good knowledge of PHP
- Good knowledge of the most widely used frameworks (incl. Laravel)
- Good knowledge of database design and database servers
- Excellent communication skills
- Higher vocational or university education, or equivalent ability
- Good command of the Dutch (and English) languages, both written and oral
- Residing in Amsterdam (or surrounding area)
What we offer
Uselab offers interesting work in a growing company with an informal working environment. Your colleagues are young and ambitious. We offer a salary in line with market rates and attractive employment terms (pension, reimbursement of travel expenses, free lunch). There are ample opportunities for professional development and expanding and deepening your knowledge.
However, it is not all about work. On Friday afternoons, we enjoy a sociable drink and in summer, we cause a stir touring the canals with our Uselab boat. See our Facebook page for more information.
